My intent was to make this look realistic and a major improvement from my first self-portrait. I looked at tutorials online which helped me out a whole lot. I learned useful tips on how to do hair, eyes, lips, and skin tones. I want to improve on blending colors and lighting.
Overall its a very nice image and I really like the framing you chose of the subject. I think to improve it you might want to look at the photograph more closely to adjust the proportions of the face. You also might want to think about adding some more darks to increase the overall contrast of the image - particularly underneath the chin and where your hair falls on your face? I like the sort of dabbed on paint texture you have built up in this image as well it is a good technique.
